Hannah Wendorf | Music College Advising

Music creates connections.

Let’s connect you with the right musical education.

With so many options and items to prepare, applying for music school can be intimidating—“Should I go to a conservatory, liberal arts school, or university? What even is a musical résumé? How do I make a prescreen recording? All these schools have different requirements, I don’t even know where to start…”

College applications take countless hours of work, but there is even more preparation necessary for musical applications—researching options, application requirements, and faculty lists; writing and editing essays; planning visits and audition travel; and more. All of these activities are time-intensive and take your attention away from what really matters: practicing.

That’s where I come in. I have experience on both sides of the music admissions process—as a successful applicant and an admissions staff member. I know what makes a strong musical application, and how to accomplish it. Let me lighten the load for you and your family, and allow you to have more precious practice time.

Why does that matter? Additional time to refine your audition repertoire could potentially save thousands or tens of thousands of dollars off tuition with a higher merit scholarship. Let’s find the best program for you and make it possible for your family.

Hi, I’m Hannah!

I’m a violist, but I come from a family of non-musicians. Navigating the music school application process was intimidating for all of us. Thankfully, I had mentors who helped me put my best foot forward, but I still spent an unbelievable amount of time on my application and audition process.

When I started working in the admissions office during my undergraduate studies, I had no idea how much I’d grow to love interacting with other musicians looking for their new home. After over four years of experience at two institutions, I have gained incredible insight into how the music admissions process really works—and how applicants can make it work for them.

After successfully completing the conservatory admissions process twice (San Francisco Conservatory of Music BM ‘24, Indiana University Jacobs School of Music MM ‘26), I want to help others do the same.

Let’s work together to help you succeed!
